Web, Science, and Music

Short update this time, three things to tell ya:

One, I've figured out how to embed unity games into this website. Agony, Awolien, and Fruitless all now play in-browser from their pages if you click on them from the home page.

Two, I've received an email from the psychology department of the University of Alberta. It seems they were impressed with my masters thesis (available here) and want me to write 6000 words for a chapter of a book they're making! I'll need the newest Oculus Rift and some time, but they've given me a year to write it! A year! I'll admit I had a lot of fun with my thesis and this seems like a great opportunity to make a name for myself. Unfortunately there is no money involved in this, not even a budget to buy the new Oculus. I promised myself I'd never work for free again, but this could be something big, and with a year to spare it could just be a side project to mess with every now and then!

And finally I've got a new addition on my music desk. I'd wanted a synthesizer for ages and I noticed this beauty; special edition, $150 cheaper than the store, brand new on ebay.

Zoom G3 Multi-effect pedal for ukulele and voice modulation, microKorg XL special edition synthesizer, and Boss RC-505 Loop station, plugged into a Roland MicroCube amp.

This thing is SO MUCH FUN! I've picked up a few chords and I'm learning all about music theory. Hopefully I'll be able to play this badboy live somewhere, or be good enough to make some basic music or sound effects for games. Feels like that's a very long way off though.
