Melbourne Artist For Hire

Defuze

This is the first game I developed in a team. It was for a company called DinoRoar Interactive. We were a three-person team, Jiyong Park the designer, Tim Song the artist, myself the programmer, and we were supervised by the CEO Aileen Bautista.

The game was developed for iPhone and Android and consisted of five levels, each level was a different type of bomb that had to be disarmed, and each bomb made use of a different capability of the iPhone.

Bombs 1 and 5 used the touch screen to cut and attach wires. Bomb 2 used the vibration ability to tell the player the order in which to press the buttons. Bomb 3 required the user to whistle different pitches into the microphone, and bomb 4 used the gyroscope to tilt a ball into a hole.

To create this game, I needed to learn a new language, a new paradigm, a new platform, and a new environment. I converted from C-based visual studio object-oriented pc games to event-based LUA scripted mobile coding in IntelliJ IDEA. I discovered that I can learn new things quickly and greatly enjoy doing so.

Unfortunately the game was cancelled by DinoRoar two weeks before launch.
